Thankfully there is, and once again this year’s game includes a ‘Champions’ mode in Ultimate Team, which allows you to translate your skills on the virtual pitch into in-game rewards.

It sees you accruing points through playing games with your assembled squad, and qualifying for a Weekend League in which your performance can win you rewards.

It’s quite a confusing system, but we’ve tried to break it down as simply as possible.

What is the Weekend League?

Luckily, EA have tweaked the format so that now if you qualify for the league, you can at least defer your entry until a weekend that suits you, rather than having to give up your time on the subsequent weekend.

How do I qualify?

To qualify for the Weekend League, you’ll need to play games as part of Division Rivals in Ultimate Team.

Every game you play there will earn you points, which accumulate over time and allow you entry to the Weekend League – if you’re good enough.

The number of FUT Champions Points earned for each game is dependent on your performance and current Division, so the better you are on the pitch, the more points you can earn.
